1. Acceptance
By accessing or using Scan Careers, you agree to these Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be able to enter into a binding agreement in the place where you live.
2. What Scan Careers provides
Scan Careers helps users examine job descriptions, identify repeated employer signals, compare those signals with user-confirmed career evidence, and organize next-step considerations. The website supports multi-job comparison. The Chrome extension supports job-page scanning and local career information, with optional explicit cloud save and restore when signed in.
Scan Careers is a software information tool. It is not an employer, recruiter, placement service, certification authority, legal adviser, or provider of employment guarantees.
3. Accounts and responsibility
You are responsible for selecting and controlling your Google account, safeguarding browser and device access, and promptly signing out or deleting your cloud account when appropriate. You may not use another person's account or attempt to access another user's data.
Information you provide should be accurate enough for the analysis you request. You remain responsible for reviewing and correcting your profile, evidence, imported information, and saved results.
4. Permitted use and prohibited abuse
You may use Scan Careers for lawful personal career research and related evaluation. You may not:
- Break the law, violate another person's rights, or submit content you are not permitted to process.
- Attempt to bypass authentication, quotas, access controls, request limits, or user-data boundaries.
- Probe, disrupt, overload, scrape, reverse engineer, or interfere with the service except where applicable law expressly permits it.
- Upload malware, malicious instructions, or content intended to compromise Scan Careers or its providers.
- Use the service to make automated employment decisions about other people or to misrepresent AI output as verified fact.
5. Job descriptions and user content
You retain any rights you have in content you provide. You grant the limited permission needed for Scan Careers and its service providers to transmit, process, validate, and return that content to provide the requested feature. This permission lasts only as needed to operate the service, subject to the storage practices in the Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for having the right to submit job descriptions, résumé-derived information, career evidence, and other content. Scan Careers does not verify that a job posting is authentic, accurate, complete, lawful, current, or still available.
6. AI and interpretation limitations
Scan Careers uses Google Gemini to assist with requested job-related analysis. AI output can be incomplete, incorrect, inconsistent, or based on ambiguous source material. Product validation and source grounding reduce some risks but do not make the analysis error-free.
Pattern frequency describes only the job descriptions included in a particular comparison. Requirement, evidence, experience, certification, and work-condition interpretations are informational and may require human review. A result does not prove that you meet an employer's requirements or that an employer will interpret your background the same way.
7. Employment decisions and no guarantees
You are solely responsible for career, application, résumé, interview, training, certification, legal, financial, and employment decisions. Scan Careers does not guarantee interviews, hiring, compensation, certification eligibility, job availability, employer response, or any other outcome.
8. Service availability and changes
The service may be unavailable, delayed, changed, limited, or discontinued. Features can depend on browsers, Cloudflare, Google authentication, Google Gemini, and other systems outside Scan Careers' control. No uninterrupted or error-free availability is promised.
Future features may be paid. No subscription, billing plan, or automatic renewal is currently offered. Any future paid terms and prices must be presented before a charge is authorized.
9. Intellectual property
Scan Careers' software, interface, visual design, documentation, and product materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws and remain with their respective rights holders. These terms do not transfer ownership of the service or third-party technology. Google, Gemini, Chrome, Cloudflare, and other names belong to their respective owners.
10. Suspension and deletion
Access may be limited, suspended, or terminated when reasonably necessary to address abuse, security risk, unlawful activity, provider requirements, or material violations of these terms. You may delete your Scan Careers cloud account through the available authenticated account-deletion control. Cloud deletion and local device deletion are separate, as described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Scan Careers is provided “as is” and “as available,” without express or implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or availability. These disclaimers do not limit rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the people responsible for providing Scan Careers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost opportunities, income, data, goodwill, or business interruption arising from use of or inability to use the service. Aggregate liability for a claim will not exceed the amount you paid for the service during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow particular exclusions or limitations, so portions of this section may not apply to you.
13. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated as Scan Careers changes. The effective date will be updated when revised terms are posted. If a change materially affects your use, reasonable notice should be provided through the service where practical. Continued use after revised terms take effect constitutes acceptance, subject to applicable law.
14. Governing law and contact
The legal owner identity, governing-law jurisdiction, venue, and public support contact have not yet been established in the repository. They require owner and, where appropriate, legal review before these Terms are used for Google production branding or broader public account access.
